How to Block NSFW AI Image Generators and AI Porn Sites

Why AI porn is a different problem

For many people in recovery, AI-generated explicit images have become the new loophole: "it's not real", it is endlessly customisable, and it often lives on sites that look like ordinary creative tools. From a blocking point of view there are three things that make it harder than traditional porn:

• Volume and churn. New generator sites, character chat sites and "nudify" apps launch and rebrand constantly.
• Dual-use platforms. Some general AI tools and model hubs host both safe and explicit content on the same domain.
• Local generation. Open-weight image models can run on your own GPU with no website involved at all.

No filter catches all of this. A layered setup catches most of it and makes the rest deliberate rather than impulsive.

Layer 1: adult-content categories

NoorI's Basic Protection preset, available on the Free plan, blocks Cloudflare's Pornography, Nudity and Adult Themes categories. Dedicated AI porn sites that Cloudflare has classified fall into these and are blocked like any other adult site, on every browser and app on an enrolled device.

The gap: brand-new domains may not be classified yet, and general-purpose AI sites are not categorised as adult even if some of their output is.

Layer 2: your own block list

This is where you close the gap for the specific sites that pull you in. On Pro, add each one as a Web address in a block rule. A domain entry covers every subdomain.

• Add any NSFW generator, AI companion or nudify site you have used, by domain.
• Consider model and image-sharing hubs that host explicit community content, such as civitai.com, if they are part of your pattern.
• If AI chat is the trigger, the app list includes Character.ai and Poe, alongside mainstream assistants you may prefer to leave alone.
• Check your Activity log for domains you do not recognise and add the ones that matter.

Developer trade-offs: do not block your toolchain

If you work with machine learning, be deliberate. Blocking huggingface.co or GitHub would break real work, and DNS cannot tell a safe model download from an explicit one on the same domain. Practical options:

• Block the community galleries and dedicated NSFW sites, not the core model registries.
• Remove locally installed image-generation UIs and checkpoints you do not need for work. DNS filtering cannot see or stop software running on your own GPU.
• Keep generative tools on a work machine or account that is not where you relapse.

Layer 3: accountability

Because new sites keep appearing, the most important layer is a person. With Guardian Mode, adding new blocks is always instant, but removing a block, pausing filtering or disconnecting requires your guardian's emailed approval, then a delay you set (minimum 4 hours) before a 30-minute window. Many people also share the list of sites they have added with their guardian, which turns "I found a new one" into a conversation rather than a secret. Run your computer from a standard (non-admin) account so the Cloudflare One app stays installed.

What this cannot do

• Bots inside messaging apps run on the messaging app's own domains.

One more point: creating sexual images of a real person without consent, including "nudified" photos, causes serious harm and is illegal in a growing number of countries.
